EGLISE SAINT-JÉRÔME
Church built in 1626 with a single nave and triumphal arch, featuring an adjoining cemetery, a 16th- and 18th-century painting
The Saint-Jérôme church in Peypin d'Aigues, built in 1626 to replace the ruined parish church, bears witness to the commune's religious history. Built by a Pertuis company using materials supplied by local Catholics, it retains its original appearance despite the forced conversion of Protestants in 1685. The church, with its single nave and triumphal arch, has an adjacent cemetery, enlarged in 1687. Inside, a 17th-early18th-century painting of St. Jerome in the desert, restored in 2011, is one of the building's treasures. Although the church is currently closed, its presence remains a testimony to the village's religious history.
