Church that consisted of a chapel oriented east-west and a tower supporting the bell tower in Vacqueyras.
The primitive church was built in the 12th century. It consisted of an east-west oriented chapel and a tower supporting the bell tower. The apse of this Romanesque chapel, which is still visible, is easily recognizable and is to the right of the entrance. The square tower is part of the ramparts. It was probably endowed with an indispensable surveillance function during troubled times. Over the centuries, several campaigns of work have been carried out to embellish and enlarge this place of worship to keep pace with the growth of the population.
