THE BAUDIN HOOF MACHINE
The Baudin shoe machine is the flagship of the early th century industry. True innovation at the time, this machine was exported worldwide. Wood or glass are two activities that a priori do not have much in common. However, it was the hooves factory founded by Antonin Baudin in Lurcy-Lévis in 1904 that everything left. In 1920, the founder began manufacturing his own machines to dig or sanding the wood, and in the early sixties, under his daughter's leadership, he adapted the tape sanders that were used for the finishing of the glass hooves. At the time Antonin Baudin is a pioneer. The grandson of Antonin, Alain Voulton, joined the company in 1976 after completing his engineering studies, and then began a career as a fighter pilot in the air force, develops straight-line machines that allow the plate to be machined. It is located at the Espace Art, Culture and Collections near the municipal park, which is surrounded by three ginkgos bilobas, the largest in the department.
