SAINT MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHEDRAL
Sainte-Marie de l'Assomption Cathedral, with contemporary stained glass windows by Korean father Kim En Joong.
The medieval town church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption (listed as a Monument Historique) overlooks the Ouvèze river and the lower town. In the 12th and 13th centuries, the rival Counts of Toulouse and Bishops of Vaison triggered a population movement away from the lower town. The church of Haute-Ville was born. Thanks to Swiss patron Leonard Gianadda, 19 contemporary stained-glass windows by Korean father Kim En Joong decorate the bays.
