CHÂTEAU DU GRAND PRÉ
Château dating from the and centuries, recently renovated and reopened to the public to admire its superb gypseries
The château was built in 1678 for Françoise de Cambis, widow of Honoré de Brancas Forcalquier, Count of Forcalquier. It was then sold to Jean d'Ailhaud, a surgeon who cured King Louis XV's gangrene with the purgative powder he developed and made his reputation. The château remained abandoned for several years. After many months of restoration, the current new owners have reopened it to the public, who can admire the superb 18th-century gypseries depicting gallant, allegorical and rural scenes.
