ARS BASILICA
Basilica of Ars in rotunda, with a gilded bronze shrine where Jean-Marie Vianney rests, receiving a crowd of visitors.
Born in Lyon, the son of peasants, Jean-Marie Vianney touched the hearts of thousands of faithful by his simplicity as a confessor. Canonized in 1925, then elevated to the rank of patron saint of all parish priests, Jean-Marie Vianney now rests in a gilded bronze shrine within the beautiful rotunda basilica. Next to the majestic building, the small church where the parish priest carried out his apostolate is also worth a visit. The shrine of Ars receives hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The crowd is dense on August 4, the anniversary of the death of the good Curé.

Sa maison est à visiter (gratuitement) ne serait-ce que pour connaître son histoire ainsi que celle du village à son époque : lieu très bien conservé.
