SACRED HEART BASILICA
Basilica of Romanesque-Byzantine style, 57 m long and 24 m wide, worth a visit for its small stained glass windows.
This basilica was erected from 1881 to 1953. The co-cathedral of Notre-Dame was for a long time the only parish church in Bourg. Intended in a modern but wise style, without excess, this vast building of Romanesque-Byzantine style (57 m long, 24 m wide and a capacity of 2,000 people) is worth a visit for its numerous stained glass windows, real glass mosaics of small dimensions with a very present lead network. It should be noted that the 50 m high reinforced concrete spires were only erected in 1952-53, thanks to a legacy.
