Lake of average mountain, surrounded by a green forest, nicknamed the Green Lake in Charix.

This mid-mountain lake (830 m altitude) takes us much further than the wonderful Haut Bugey. Surrounded by a green forest - it is called the Green Lake -, it seems to be full of positive waves. A legend tells that a vulture, an ugly snake, haunts the waters of the lake. It is said to be a cruel princess who was transformed by a fairy who tried, without success, to teach her to want the happiness of others. This snake would wear a diadem that would spread goodness and bring fortune to the one who would possess it... A magical place.

Cet endroit qui était idyllique devient trop fréquenté. Beaucoup trop de monde autour du lac avec des barbecues sauvages partout, des déchets, beaucoup de bruit. Dommage, dommage.

Contrairement au commentaire précédent, enfin un endroit qui accepté les chiens et la baignade pour eux! Arrêtons un peu de vouloir tout privatiser... les lacs n'appartiennent pas plus aux humains qu'aux animaux ! Surtout quand je vois la propreté de certains humains, je ne vois pas ce qu'on reproche aux chiens ! (Surtout quand la quasi-totalité des propriétaires au lac ramassent les déjections !) A bon entendeur.

Un beau petit lac naturel où il fait bon se baigner par temps chaud, il y a une petite plage et son bar, dommage qu il ne soit pas interdit aux chiens comme certaines plages car parfois trop c est trop

Le lac est dans une vallée encaissée au milieu d'une forêt. Le site est très agréable. Une petite auberge est à proximité du lac ce qui nous permet d'apprécier le paysage sur la terrasse. Il est possible de s'y baigner mais aussi de pêcher et de randonner.
