BOAT MUSEUM
Museum in Offendorf, housing objects, documents and models tracing the history and techniques of navigation
Offendorf was the largest village of boatmen in eastern France. In 1987, the municipality acquired the barge Padova, built in 1931, which today houses a museum tracing the evolution of inland waterway transport, from human traction to motorization over the last century. The museum pays tribute to Offendorf's boatmen and bargemen. The museum-peniche also features an important collection of objects, documents and models tracing the history and techniques of navigation. It also explains how locks work.
