VIERGE DU MAS RILLIER
One of the highest statues in the world, located in the town of Miribel, with a staircase allowing access to the crown.
A few kilometers from Lyon, in the commune of Miribel, stands one of the tallest statues in the world. La Madone du Mas Rillier, which was awarded the "Patrimoine XXe siècle" label on March 10, 2003, ranks 59th in the world, on a par with the imposing Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro! Inaugurated in 1941, this religious work in concrete is 30 metres high, to which must be added the height of the base, which is approximately 3 metres. A 152-step staircase leads up to the crown. The forecourt features a carillon with a campanile housing 50 bells.
