A museum that invites curiosity. Born in Pont-de-Vaux in 1814, Antoine Chintreuil was a 19th-century painter influenced by the beauty of his childhood landscapes. Alongside works by Chintreuil, the museum - housed in a handsome 18th-century townhouse - features works by other regional painters. The museum also boasts a remarkable "Cabinet of Curiosities", distinguishing between naturalia (from unicorn horns to two-headed calves) and artificialia (jewelry, weapons, etc.), works of art brought back from distant lands.
