GARDEN LA TERRE PIMPRENELLE
Private garden featuring 600 different varieties of trees and shrubs, including 200 varieties of maple.
This private garden, founded in 1989 in Lorraine, was transplanted to the Ardèche in 2001. Since then, it has continued to grow and flourish. In 2012, it was awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label. The ginkgo biloba reigns supreme on this Pimprenelle Land, with the presence of 90 subjects of about thirty varieties. It is present in each of the structures and beds of this garden which brings together 600 different varieties of trees and shrubs, including 200 varieties of maple.
This remarkable site is constantly evolving thanks to the maintenance and work carried out by its owners. Thus, in 2013, the pond above the riprap was connected to the spring which flows 8 months out of 12, thus feeding 3 ponds. In 2014 a new Patty bed was created including peonies, lots of sage, a purple sambucus fastigiata, a witch hazel, two rose bushes, and some other perennials. In addition, two large oil troughs are used for various art exhibitions. You will find them in the square near the quarry. And the master of the place has scattered on various supports extracts of his poems. The following year, three millstones were installed in the Toal Men massif, to mark the passing of time. Indeed, any visitor wishing to do so can roll them until they obtain the current date (one indicates the day, the other the month and the third the year)! 2016 saw the installation of artistic works made directly in the garden and the exhibition in the barn of paintings on canvas. On the botanical side, five more varieties of gingko were planted and two collections were approved CCVS: the gingko and taxodium collections. Also, in 2018, the owners added some rare species of shrubs as well as some pretty stone spheres. Finally, 2019 saw the creation of three new beds of about 150 new perennials.
