CENTRE D'ART ET D'HISTOIRE ANDRÉ AUCLAIR
Center d'art et d'histoire André Auclair in Cruas, featuring Art Deco works and ceramics by Fernand Lacaf.
André Auclair, born in 1893 and died in 1976, was an Art Deco painter and ceramist who lived much of his life in the Ardèche. In 1987, this town-run museum was created in his honour, housed in a beautiful house built in the 1920s. The permanent exhibition features some 300 works by the artist, displayed in alternating shifts for lack of space. Also on display are ceramics by Fernand Lacaf, and a modest museum on the industrial exploitation of lime in the region in the 18th and 19th centuries.
