ROCKFORT CASTLE
Castle founded by the lords of Bourbon to watch over the passages on the Sioule, with a polygonal body and circular keep.
The castle of Rochefort was built by the lords of Bourbon to control the passages on the Sioule. It became the seat of a châtellenie close to Ebreuil and Chantelle. The fortress is composed of a polygonal body with a circular keep, topped by a watchtower. The whole is protected by an enclosure flanked by round towers. Since the 15th century, many changes have been undertaken to give the residence a residential function. The gallery dates from the 19th century. The property belongs to the Ligondès family since the 17th century.
