MOULIN A HUILE LA MAGNANERIE
At the hamlet of Massargues, a stone's throw from the village of Orgnac-l 'Aven and its famous geological abyss, Eric Martin, the son of viticulturist, planted his first olive trees in 2008. Since then, the total area of plots has been multiplied by eight, from 3 to 25 hectares.
A student in management and international marketing at Sciences Po Grenoble before practicing consultancy in project management in a private company and then mission manager for the community of Béziers, he was caught up by a "devouring passion for the land", and for the olive tree in particular. In the stone quarters of the old magnanery (silk worms) which gives his name to his company, he even installed his own mill and a shop.
Epanoui in his new adventure, the young olive grower leads his case according to affirmed principles. Cultivated organic from the beginning, its plots are not irrigated. Eric Martin planted nine different varieties on this unique land at 400 m altitude: Strawberry, Agile, Picholine, Peel, Small Rig and Redness of the Ardèche for French, Frantoio, Moraiolo and Replenishment for Italians. Working only in assembly, he proposes six cups: Cosmos (monovarietal of leccio del Corno), Apogee (monovarial of bouteillan), Rosetta (frantoio monovarietal), Thunderstorm (bracillan, moraiolo), Sauvage (laborillan, agcap, picholine) and Eve Foot (small wrestling, calves callian).
