Its reputation is well established. For a long time, the artistic and cultural project around education in art and culture, including in schools, has given this theater its letters of nobility. In this way, it contributes to defending, enhancing and sharpening the cultural spirit of young audiences, particularly with regard to contemporary creation. The French Ministry of Culture has given the Scène Conventionnée the mission of "reaching out to the younger generation". Its director, Laurent Sellier, offers a multi-disciplinary artistic program of the highest quality. The 800-seat theatre has been open to a wide and varied audience since its very first season in 1970. The theater also boasts a genuine exhibition gallery, which has become a popular meeting place. Here again, the aim is to disseminate contemporary art to as wide and varied an audience as possible. This objective has clearly been achieved, as the room is always full.
