FÊTE DU FIN GRAS DE MEZENC
The season of the Fin gras (a parsleyed beef) ends when the animals leave the barn, go out to the meadows, to feed not on hay but on fresh grass! For the closing, a big festival is organized where the breeders and the inhabitants of the Mezenc-Gerbier massif gather at the beginning of June. On the programme: parade of breeders and their cattle, street shows, market of local products, theme walks, games. This festival is held every year in one of the villages of the Fin Gras area, one year in Haute Loire, the following year in Ardèche and each time in a different village. The association which watches over this magnificent product also organizes in February a festival of local products.... pot-au-feu. In June it is spit-roasted beef leg.
