MADELEINE CAVE
A 25-chamber cave, with a sound and light show highlighting the drapery on the walls.
Located on the tourist road of the Gorges, about twenty kilometres south-east of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, the Madeleine cave is divided into 25 rooms. Discovered in 1887, its entrance overlooks a 170 m wall of the Ardèche gorges. The visit, 1 km long, lasts one hour and begins with the entrance to another cave, the Lescure cave. The highlight of the tour is the sound and light show that highlights the draperies hanging from the walls of the cave. Also worth seeing is the exhibition of santons depicting scenes from the work of yesteryear.
