Religious building built in 1732, on the initiative of the surgeon Malzamet, on his return from a pilgrimage to Jerusalem
This religious building was built in 1732, on the initiative of the surgeon Malzamet, on his return from a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, from where he miraculously recovered from a terrible illness. The Calvary has a Way of the Cross. It is from the top of this promontory, perched between Voltour and Volane, that you can discover a part of the history of Valsoise and how, from the original castle, ruined by the wars of religion, the town spread along the Volane up to the thermal district, scattering along its banks houses and industries, mostly textiles.
