The castle of Osthouse is the last plain castle in Alsace whose moat is still in use, fed by the Ill river. The construction of the first wing dates from the 15th century. The west wing was built around 1436 by Claus Zorn de Bulach. It was renovated in 1558 according to the inscription on the cellar door. A stream and a wall delimit the domain which includes a large peripheral water ditch with a bridge, a primitively fortified enclosure with 4 large polygonal corner towers, an entrance work in the axis of the bridge...
