MONASTIC GARDEN OF SOUVIGNY
Reconstruction of formal gardens with a monastery garden featuring roses, vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants.
Created in 1993 when Souvigny was elected as a Grand National Site for the Auvergne Region. Inaugurated in 1994, it is part of the visit to the priory complex. Reconstitution of French-style gardens with the monastery garden style combined with medicinal and aromatic plants. The plants are labelled with indications on their uses and medicinal properties. Also to be seen vines, rose garden, old vegetables. A monumental staircase overlooks the ensemble.
