Discover the Birkenfels and Landsberg castles with their imposing architecture in Ottrott.
The Birkenfels rises to an altitude of 675 metres. It was built in 1260. The castle comprises a huge three-storey main building encircled by a pentagonal keep of rusticated stone. The Landsberg castle, built around 1190, overlooks Heiligenstein from a height of 590 meters. The incredible Romanesque windows of the seigniorial dwelling, the pointed-arched entrance gate and the huge square keep of the first castle can still be seen.
