One of the region's most sacred sites, the monastery of Mont Sainte-Odile in Ottrott.

Overlooking the valley, the monastery of Mount Sainte-Odile is one of the most sacred sites in the region. In the 7th century, the Merovingian duke Etichon, who reigned over Alsace, rejected his blind daughter. She was placed under the protection of nuns before being granted the castle of Hohenbourg, built around 680 on the current site of Mount Sainte-Odile. Before her death, she decided to build a monastery there. Destroyed and rebuilt many times, it was bought back by the bishopric in 1853. Restored in the 1930s, it has been a place of pilgrimage ever since.

Endroit magnifique, offrant une superbe vue en particulier les beaux jours qui donne sur la vallée d'Alsace. Superbe lieu de recueillement avec un très beau couvent nous permettant de nous déjeuner sur place avec un très beau jardin extérieur pour ensuite descendre le chemin qui nous mène a la source miraculeuse, eau très bonne et très rafraîchissante.
