ENGLISH VILLAS
Amazing English colonial style houses in the rue Alquié in Vichy, keeping a certain charm with bow windows.
These English colonial style houses, found between number 19 and number 33 of Alquié Street, are amazing! These semi-detached villas were built in 1864 by the architect Jean Lefaure (who also designed the Chalets Impériaux), in order to house the officers of the Imperial Guard who accompanied the Emperor and his entourage during his stays in Vichy. They are a new illustration of the influence that Napoleon III had on the architecture of the city. Today, these houses retain a certain charm, with their bow windows.
