THE SITE OF THE VEYRINS
This site near the road between Allanche and Marcenat, is very easy to access with parking and path
The Allanche river falls here in a waterfall, in the middle of the pastures. The Salers cows in summer pasture look with a curious eye at the courageous ones who bathe. It is a real cool spot in the heart of the Cézallier. Near the road between Allanche and Marcenat, the site is very easy to access with a parking lot and a path. The marked path leads to the remains of a Gallo-Roman sanctuary from the 2nd century discovered during the construction of the railway line at the beginning of the 20th century. The excavations revealed objects such as fragments of amphorae.
