PARAPLUIES PIGANIOL
Piganiol is an umbrella manufacturer in Aurillac, the capital of the umbrella. Very popular internationally, the French taste is found in them. On the occasion of its 125 th anniversary, the brand obtained the Distinction of Living Heritage.
History. The story of Piganiol began in 1884: J.-B. Stabet created his company and hired a young bachelor, Jean Delort. In 1896, he founded the Workers' Relief Society of Workers and Employees in Umbrellas. In 1911, he joined with J.-B Terrisse and took over the estate of J.-B. Poignet. In 1928, his son-in-law, René Piganiol, joined the company and took over all the manufacturing positions for three years before succeeding his stepfather. A youngest son of René, Henri Piganiol, joined the company in 1949 and became associate in 1953. After an expansion of the workshop on Rue des Fossés, he built the current factory in 1968 at 9 rue Ampère in Aurillac. The company employs about fifty employees and produces 250,000 umbrellas per year. In 1974, it was up to the 4 th generation, in the person of Jean Piganiol, to take over the company, to join a printing shop to develop the umbrella umbrella, and to extend sales sales, especially on the Japanese market. In 1984, under the aegis of Martine Piganiol, Jean's wife, the umbrellas Piganiol became a real fashion accessory. In 2003, Matthieu Piganiol, the 5 th generation, created an innovative digital printing workshop within the company and introduced computer-assisted laser cutting.
The products. In addition to its classic umbrellas, fantasies, timeless and innovative, Piganiol creates umbrellas personified on photography, à la carte (by choosing everything from the frame to the finish) or advertising (with the logo of a company).
Employment. Between 40 000 and 50 000 umbrellas are carried out each year by the 32 employees.
