COURT BUILDING
Until 1872, justice was served in Aurillac in the presidium of rue de la Coste, before these dilapidated and cramped buildings were considered unworthy of the city. It was therefore decided to rebuild it, in front of the square. The building, like most French courts of that time, was built on the model of a Greek temple. In Doric style, it has a square with columns, a pediment and vast degrees. To be discovered in the courtroom: three tapestries from the 17th century workshops of La Marche - Aubusson Felletin - which tell the story of Jerusalem delivered. These tapestries were classified as Historical Monuments in 1922.
