AUZERS CASTLE
Auzers castle in Auvergne style with 3 towers.
Nestled in a green setting, looking out over the Puy Mary peaks in the distance, Château d'Auzers will astonish you with its false austerity. Owned by the de Douhet family since the 15th century, it was completely rebuilt in 1510, with the main building flanked by three massive towers. Auvergne style, polychrome frescoes from the 16th century, documents from King Louis XVI, Empire furniture donated by the Emperor himself: the visit is a real plunge into French history through this château and the ancestors of the current owners.
