A mining museum located in Champagnac, presenting an exhibition of documents, accessories and working tools.
A small museum reminiscent of Cantal mining activity. Through well-designed explanations, miner's equipment and realistic models, visitors wander through this part of local history. In 1957, two years before the end of industrialization, the mines were still producing 100,000 tonnes of coal a year. The remains of the old housing estates are still there to bear witness to this era. The highlight of the visit is a platform representing the Ydes colliery, with its buildings and railway lines, measuring an impressive 2.50 m x 5 m.
