The Maison de Pays d'Ambierle is a tourist information centre located in the Benedictine Priory in Ambierle, which has been awarded the Village de Caractère label. Here you'll find hiking guides, regional books, postcards, and local crafts and products. The Benedictine Priory of Ambierle is located in the north of the Loire department, 18 km from Roanne. It comprises sections built in the 14th century, 15th-century turrets, and a main building constructed between 1753 and 1757. The flamboyant Gothic church features period stained glass windows and an altarpiece, a masterpiece of Flemish art. Guided tours of the village are available for groups by prior arrangement.
