GREAT MURCIAN ARBORETUM
Arboretum of the Grands Murcins, classified as a Park and Garden of France, has become a popular place for walks and an educational space.
The Arboretum des Grands Murcins is located at an altitude of 800 m. This privileged area has 250 different tree species from all continents except Oceania, medicinal and aromatic plants, a cultivated land of 3 ha for wildlife and birds. It should be noted that it presents one of the most important collections of sorbbles in France. Its discovery is facilitated by the presence of botanical panels and also by the use of an application to download from the website, Handivisite, valid for people with disabilities as well as for everyone. An educational chalet, which is not open every day, houses a permanent exhibition on the environment of the Monts de la Madeleine and offers a wealth of information to all audiences. Finally, the syndicat mixte des monts de la Madeleine provides guided tours for groups as well as many activities for everyone from March to November on the site. The most important are its great landscape value with an exceptional panorama where you can see 300 days a year the Mont Blanc, as well as the provision of an outdoor room and a relaxation and picnic area.
