CHÂTEAU DE BOËN - MUSÉE DES VIGNERONS DU FOREZ
The castle of Boën is the rare witness of the neoclassical architecture of the second half of the 18th century.
The Château de Boën is a rare example of the neoclassical architecture of the second half of the 18th century and the pleasure of living of a provincial nobility during the Enlightenment period. A remarkable caravaggesque painting attributed to Gioacchino Assereto hangs in the staircase of the castle, reportedly painted between 1630 and 1640, and the Musée des Vignerons du Forez shows the work, daily life and wine of the Forez winegrowers from the mid-19th century to the present day. The many tools on display (spades, planters, pruning shears, etc.) and videos show the work of the winegrower over the seasons. The reconstructions invite you to enter a café in Boën frequented by the winegrowers, but also the farm of the winegrowing family and a vineyard lodge. The testimonies of three generations of winegrowers reflect the evolution of the profession
