ROMANIC CHURCH
The church of Champdieu is under the patronage of San Sebastián, in addition to Saint Domnin, as from the th century, when part of its relics are welcomed in the crypt. In this way, she was prieurale church, but also a church church and parish church for villagers. Its construction dates from the th century, for its eastern part, in the th century for additions of the Gothic chapel and the western bell tower and has two clochers. The presence of relics determines the movement inside the church, a symbol of the pilgrim's path to the purification. Some tents illustrate the stages of this purification. It consists of three naves. The central nave is covered with a cradle without a discharge arch, a technical feat in the early th century. The choir, reserved for monks, consists of a central apse flanked by two absidioles, all connected by a traffic corridor. This plan is echoed in the semi-enterrée crypt, where the majority of the decorative capitals are corinthisants, decorated with plants. The church has many statues of saints including Saint Isidore patron of craftsmen and Saint Vincent patron of the winemakers, two very often represented in rural churches in the region. The semi-enterrée crypt welcomed in its main apse the relics of Saint Domnin of Avrillé.
