LIVING MUSEUM OF TRIMMINGS
An opportunity to discover the know-how of former workers, and craftsmen, in the living museum of trimmings.
In the 17th century, Jean Deshort introduced trimmings in the commune to help the villagers out of their poverty. At that time, 400 trades were in operation among 100 couples of trimmers. The last workshop closed in 2005, but three industrial companies and the museum continue to perpetuate the history and know-how of the trade. You will discover the know-how of the former workers and this art craft of braiding and tasselling the uniform, haute couture and luxury furnishings.
