Montchal is home to the workshop of Dominique Bajard, an artisan specializing in ceramics. Since 1982, Dominique and Agnès Coupey have been working together to create unique ceramic pieces. Dominique is inspired by Greek and Roman mythologies, particularly minotaurs, to create figures, characters and animals. Some of his work is then cast in bronze. Recently, he has turned his attention to the internal structure and material of bodies, particularly bones, and uses the "naked raku" technique to fire his works. Agnès Coupey creates contemporary furniture, benches and armchairs that tell stories of tenderness and small pleasures. In addition to their artistic creations, they also create architecture-integrated works for local authorities and private individuals, such as sculptures, wall panels and fireplaces.
