NOTRE-DAME-DE L’HERMITAGE
A massive building draws by far the attention, but what is done up there, on its spur, this austere monument? After 7 km of climb from Noirétable, following the road of La Chamba, then an asphalted forest road, you arrive in a vallon and we are at 1 100 m above sea level in the heart of the Forez Mountains. The sanctuary is a place of full nature, silence and rest, and its character will be respected by proper attire. Throughout the year, the Hermitage is at the service of pilgrims who never cease to pray and to entrust themselves. You will be seated in rooms equipped with a sink, shower and health, in summer, 75 places (53 rooms) in winter: 34 places (23 rooms) or 10-seat dormitory. On each floor you will find toilets and showers. At your disposal, dining rooms on the ground floor with 69 and 50 seats. A reading and TV room, bar and shop. A 70-seat bag room and meeting rooms, video, DVD, video projector. By taking the historic route, some sites, like the rock of Peyrotine, where you enjoy a superb view, can be dangerous. Parents and group leaders will ensure that they do not take unnecessary risks. At the sanctuary, the season begins in general at Pentecost, and ends at the Saint-Michel, do not miss the great feast of 15 August and the employer party of the pilgrimage on 8 September.
