The square is the center of many services and shops in the Croix district and is the site of the Sunday market.
In the heart of the Croix district, the most recent one, this square is now the centre of many services and shops. It is a bit like the heart of the village dominated by the church of Saint-Jean built in 1845 which was the main church of the village during the temporary closure of Notre-Dame below. At that time, there was a real war of steeples between Pélussin-le-Haut and Pélussin-le-Bas. It is here, among other places, that Jean Becker filmed some scenes of "Effroyables jardins" in the summer of 2002. It is also the place of the market on Sunday.
