The small municipality of Escorailles, at 700 m above sea level, offers a splendid view of the Cantal Mountains thanks to a collapse extending to the Gorges gorges. The Romanesque church Saint-Jean Baptiste dates from the th century and was renovated in the second third of the th century. It has a nice portal and a clocher bell tower that is worth a look. It is certainly the old chapel of the castle. On the portal you can see the head of a man and an animal, and the voussure has esoteric symbols. The interior also has a beautiful sculpted décor. Superb.
