L'Amicale des Pilotes du Roannais is a flying club based at Roanne-Renaison airport. Affiliated with the Fédération Française Aéronautique, this flying club offers a range of leisure aviation activities. Members can take advantage of flights in the region or even go on trips. The club also offers discovery and introductory flights, conducted by qualified pilots. For those wishing to learn more about the world of aeronautics, a discovery course is available. The flying school is approved by the French Civil Aviation Authority, and prepares students for the LAPL(A) and PPL(A) light aircraft pilot licenses, as well as the FCL 810 night flight rating. In partnership with local schools, the flying club also prepares young people for the B.I.A. (brevet d'initiation aéronautique). The Amicale des Pilotes du Roannais is a member of the Inter Club Aéronautique Roannais (I.C.A.R) and helps organize the Roanne International Airshow. The club's aircraft are maintained in a workshop approved by the French Civil Aviation Authority.
