The Loire Volcanique Association, created in 2019, brings together 39 winegrowers united by their desire to promote the exceptional terroirs of the Massif Central. Between them, they cover the wine-growing territories of the Auvergne, Forez, Roannais and Saint-Pourçain. 7 winegrowers of the AOC Côtes d'Auvergne are part of it. The Loire Volcanique is above all a group of friendly winegrowers who work together, imbued with common values. Loire Volcanique is also the sign of the renewal of this unique terroir with a semi-continental climate, vines at altitude (between 200 and 600 metres) and the Foehn effect which softens the climate and acts as a barrier to rainfall. If the idea at first was to make itself known locally and above all to have the Volcanic Loire recognized as a region in its own right within the Loire Valley, today the association is multiplying its interventions and events in order to obtain international recognition.
