LE COMPTOIR SYRIEN
New address offering a delicious and generous home-made Syrian cuisine with fresh and quality ingredients.
A new address that puts Syrian cuisine in the spotlight in the Tréfilerie district. Founded by Féras, a former tourist guide in Damascus, and Mohamed, a former pharmacist in Aleppo, the Syrian Comptoir offers typical dishes. The cuisine is delicious and generous, the welcome warm. Eager to provide a pleasant culinary experience, everything is homemade with fresh and quality ingredients. The menu is composed of traditional dishes: mezzés, chawarma, falafel or the famous shakrieh (lamb meat cooked in yoghurt, with onions, rice and angel hair). Only baklawas are imported from Damascus "for their quality and taste" according to the owners. The restaurant offers several vegetarian dishes such as babaganouj (eggplant purée cooked with sesame cream, garlic, lemon and olive oil) or fattoush (raw vegetable salad made from purslane, lettuce, radish, cabbage, tomato and sumac). The cuisine is simple but sophisticated, the taste buds seduced by these oriental flavours. Once a month, the restaurant offers a musical evening with Syrian artists, an opportunity to travel through the traditional music of the Cham.
