A Saint-Etienne institution in a warm setting.

L'Escargot d'Or has been a local institution for over a hundred years. Located on the Cours Victor Hugo, it has been run by Guy Degrange for 36 years. It offers a wide choice of dishes, in a warm setting or on the terrace: monkfish tails with snails, sea bass fillet with sea urchin cream... Traditional cuisine presented as if in a gastro restaurant. The classics among the classics, Burgundy snails are offered here in an original way: a snail puff pastry with peppers! Another house specialty: foie gras, a real treat! While the dining room on the first floor is a typical lunchtime setting, the room on the second floor is perfect for special occasions.

Je garderai un excelkent souvenir de mon anniversaire ( mes 60 ans) . Je remercie et je félicite le restaurant l escargot d or pour son accueil, le service , sa gentillesse, l humour pour toutes les prestations en général et les qualités exceptionnelles du repas, des vins . Je recommande ce restaurant qui me fut conseillé par mon fils et vraiment enchantée
Venez déguster, apprécier , vous détendre bref passer un moment agréable pour un prix raisonnable.

En face des Halles mais surtout en face d'un bar à bières belges, parfait juste avant de commencer un somptueux repas avec les parents en ce lieu unique. Forcément, il fallait gouter les escargots, qui sont tout simplement une tuerie !
