On Jean-Jaurès Square, there is a restaurant that you cannot miss: the Poteaux Carrés.. Named after the crossbar which led to a defeat during the European Cup championship clubs in ASSE, the restaurant offers traditional cuisine and has not less than 90 seats inside and 200 outside. The staff is friendly, and many famous people – stephanoises or not - have lunch or dinner there. They served complete menus. All dishes are homemade with products of good quality and are bought in the best shops of the city and the surrounding area: Pécresse, Cornand, Weiss, the barn of ice-creams... In case of allergies or food intolerances, please feel free to inform the chef who will then propose an alternative. A sommelier will advise you about the appropriate wine during your meal: Pic Saint-Loup, Languedoc, Bordeaux, Minervois,...
Inside the all-white decoration is a mixture of sobriety and variegated and is quite modern. There is a bar - brasserie a few meters away and a hotel-restaurant in the District of Châteaucreux station, Poteaux Carrés restaurant has become a symbol in the Saint-Etienne culinary landscape. For any dish bought in this establishment, you'll get a cinema ticket for € 5.50 at the Alhambra.
