With more than 235 municipalities in the department, the Union des communes rurales de la Loire is a non-political association. It is composed of elected representatives of the Department of the Loire (mayors and deputies) and aims to defend rural land and the free administration of territorial communities. It also participates in the development of the country. More than 2/3 of the ligériennes communes join the Union, which brings solutions to the technical and legal problems faced by local elected representatives. In particular, the association publishes the 36 000 magazine magazine, as well as newsletters. It regularly organises meetings in connection with rural areas.
