Created in 1996, the Optical Cluster and Vision offers scientific training of excellence. The meeting of academic and industrial actors in the region in the fields of optics, visual engineering, image processing… then led to the creation of the Rhône-Alpes Optical Pole in 2004. The Campus is on the old site of the Giat manufacturer in the neighbourhood of Carnot. It includes the higher optical and vision training sectors, the Doctoral BTS, and the École d'engineering Telecom Saint-Etienne and the Hubert Curien Research Laboratory. A site at the cutting edge of technology that trains tomorrow's researchers!
