TOWN HALL
Hotel built by Jean-Michel Dalgabio who had benefited from a dome built by Etienne Boisson in Saint-Etienne.
The town hall of Saint-Etienne was built by Jean-Michel Dalgabio from 1822 to 1830. In 1858, a dome built by Étienne Boisson enhances the building by rivalry between the ribbon power and the municipal power, and exceeds the Colcombet house facing it. In 1953, the dome, too heavy, is demolished. In 1958, the base was pierced to create shopping arcades. Statues symbolizing ribbonwork and metallurgy, two major industries of St. Stephen, decorate the stairs on the square side of the town hall. On the Jean Jaurès side, a carillon regularly rings out with a crystalline sound. And inside, a gallery of portraits of the successive mayors of Saint-Etienne.
