EFFET PASSEMENTERIES
Effet Passementeries is one of the last French manufacturers of trimmings for haute couture and high-end ready-to-wear. Its exceptional know-how is recognised by the label Entreprise du patrimoine vivant.
History. The history of Effet Passementeries dates back to 1860, when Benoit Gonin, a specialist in braiding and laces, created his company at the foot of the Parc Régional du Pilat (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes). The company was bought a century later by the Ets. TREPAL Braids and Passementeries de la Loire. As the company evolves, it will change its name to Effet Passementeries and specialize in caterpillars. The complementarity of the products, caterpillar, braid, braid, cord, fringe, hand trimmings... will give a new dynamism to the company.
A shop opened in 1998 to offer sales to private individuals.
The products. In addition to its braids, cords, braids, braids, tassels and caterpillars offered to customers in a range of more than 14,000 references, Effet Passementeries creates braided and handmade items. In addition, the House offers samples and custom-made items, and subtly combines traditional production on old wooden crafts with the development of products involving contemporary materials and technologies.
