Restaurant with terrace to discover a menu full of seasonal flavors in Chaponost.
At the outset, the site doesn't make you dream, between the Chaponost train station, the railroad line, the business parks and the traffic on the route de Brignais... But on arrival, the Forêt Noire (Black Forest) takes us away from all this bustle and into an unprecedented setting designed by Claude Cartier. A building with designer lines, a lounge terrace planted with trees for chilling out and a room with an incredible decor, "undulating" banquettes and comfortable colored armchairs. But the best is yet to come, because at La Forêt Noire, created by caterer C-Gastronomie, Christophe Foulquier and Cédric Berthier really cook. So you "forget" your car and your worries in the large private parking lot (free of charge, of course), enjoy the beauty of the surroundings and set off into the forest to discover a menu full of seasonal flavours at prices that put a bit of a damper on your appetite. For example, the beef tartare is among the most expensive in the region, but it's very good... Everything is to match, and the bill quickly rises, but the quality is always perfect. Fricassee of rock octopus a la plancha, roast lamb in a crust of herbs also a la plancha, or duck breast with sweet spice jus. A must-try, at €8 all the same, is the house Black Forest. Appropriate wine list. A very fine address, but prices too high for our taste.
