One of the best invitations to gourmet travel, for a complete change of scenery at a gourmet table. Canaima is a successful fusion of France and Latin America, Venezuela in particular. Sober, warm decor, nods to the Amazon rainforest, and chef Andrés Sandoval, a graduate of the Institut Bocuse, and Veronica Suñé at the helm. A warm welcome as they serve up colorful plates combining French cuisine and seasonal produce with South American recipes for beef au lard, fish of the moment or a reinterpreted cachapa. Unique cocktails and a selection of French and Latin American wines. Vegetarians welcome. Irresistible.
