LE BEC DE JAZZ
Jazz-loving night owls fly down to Burdeau Street and stumble into this Bec, which has been open for 43 years! What a longevity for this bar in the heart of Les Pentes, with its club atmosphere reminiscent of Bird and Charlie Parker. The walls are covered with paintings by the owner, Tchangodei, who sometimes lets his fingers run over the piano, a Yamaha 3/4, to regale us with his compositions. An excellent jazzman, this Beninese by birth and Lyonnais by adoption has contributed to some twenty albums. In his establishment, where you have to become a paying member (token fee), the hours are countless, and you leave in the early hours of the morning, drunk on music and fresh as a rose (or almost).
